Communication with Referring Physicians
It is the philosophy of The Surgical Group of Naples that patients must continue their care under the supervision of the primary care and/or referring physicians. As your general surgeon, we are in frequent communication with other physicians involved in your overall care plan. This begins with the initial patient consultation and continues as requested throughout the course of treatment. If your condition suggests a need for nutritional or psychological counseling, the referring physician is consulted prior to the referral. At the completion of surgery, we forward all care summary reports to your referring physicians as requested. Follow-up appointments are scheduled to monitor patient response to surgery and to make sure that no further intervention is needed.
The goal of our office is to provide each patient with the best medical care possible in a comfortable, friendly, professional atmosphere while strictly maintaining patients’ privacy and confidentiality. Our phones are answered by the office staff from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. We ask that you phone in advance for an appointment and we will make every effort to honor your request. If you are unable to come at the scheduled time, please call our office 24 hours in advance if possible.
In the practice of general surgery, there may be emergencies or surgical delays that may cause unforeseen scheduling conflicts. If necessary, you may be asked to reschedule at a later date and time. Should you have concerns about your procedure, our staff will try to determine the exact nature of your problems so a speedy solution can be found. In the event your physician is not available, one of the other physicians or the nurse is pleased to address your concerns. Our afterhours answering service will direct your call to the physician on call for our practice.
We look forward to serving your medical needs.
